Jeffrey Capizzano is President of The Policy Equity Group, a consultancy that empowers socially conscious for-profit and nonprofit organizations by providing advocacy, research, and communications support. Mr. Capizzano is a nationally-known advocate and researcher with both private and public sector experience. Prior to founding The Policy Equity Group, he was a Senior Policy Advisor in the Department of Health and Human Services where he helped to oversee the administration of over $16 billion worth of federal programs. Prior to his work at HHS, Mr. Capizzano was Vice President of Research and Public Policy at an educational services company where he led their public policy initiatives and developed the company’s research agenda.
He also spent 7 years at the Urban Institute, a prominent Washington, D.C.-based think tank, where he conducted policy-related research in the areas of early childhood, education, and youth policy. Mr. Capizzano’s work has played a role in a number of public policy debates and his research findings have been cited in the Washington Post and Christian Science Monitor, as well as reports published by the Brookings Institution. He has also been a guest on National Public Radio.
